Latest Curly Prom Hairstyles

Girls, compared to boys, give more importance to their prom hairstyle. There are various prom styles that girls can sport in a prom event. Forget about popular traditional prom hairstyle such as famous sassy messy updo style, and focus on the most trendy hairstyle this season, ie. Curly hair.

Curly Prom Hairstyles
Polished and sultry, this style is made all the more striking with shiny strands placed against layered, piecy ends. Some are curled while others are flat-ironed for just the right mix.

Attention Curly Prom
A headful of short, springy curls in a light chocolate cherry color is the sure way to have all the attention on you during the prom night. If you've got naturally thick, curly tresses, then diffuse dry hair to prevent frizz from forming. Shape and define ringlets into place with a styling iron, then fluff up iwth fingers.

Latest Party Updo Hairstyles

Create a French Twist
What you need: Volumizing spray, comb, small U-shaped hairpins, bobby pins, maximum-hold hair spray.
How to Get the Look
Step 1: Spritz the hair with volumizer. Use a comb to part the hair across the back of the head, from ear to ear. Gather the top section of hair at the crown, twist it one time, and secure with hairpins.

Step 2: Gather the bottom section of the hair at the nape of the neck. Twist it in a column upward, so that the ends stick up.

Step 3: Grasp the column of hair and tuck it underneath itself in the direction of the twist. Secure the hair along the twist with bobby pins. Finish with a misting of hair spray.

What you need: Smoothing serum, comb, brush, elastics, hairpins.
How to Get the Look
Step 1: Apply smoothing serum to damp hair and blow-dry straight. Use a comb to part the hair across the back of the head. Brush the top section back into a ponytail at the crown and secure with an elastic. Brush the bottom section into a ponytail at the nape and secure.

Step 2: Twist the top ponytail several times and secure it with hairpins to one side of the bottom elastic.

Create a Cascade
Best for: Medium to long hair that is one length or layered. All textures.
What you need: Texturizing spray, one large elastic, large bobby pins.
How to Get the Look
Step 1: Spritz damp hair with texturizing spray and let air-dry. Gather the hair loosely into a ponytail at the crown. Don’t pull too tight; you want the natural texture to show. Secure with an elastic.

Step 2: Grab a one-inch section of the ponytail. Create a loop with the section by bringing the ends up to the scalp and securing with a bobby pin. Repeat until all the hair has been looped.

Step 3: To frame your face, gently pull out a few tendrils. If you have bangs, let them hang loose.
Everlasting Cascade Hairstyle

Create a Side-Swept Chignon
Best for: Medium to long hair of one length. All textures.
What you need: Comb, brush, elastic, hairpins, maximum-hold hair spray.
How to Get the Look
Step 1: Make a side part with a comb. Brush the hair into a low ponytail on the same side as the part.

Step 2: Secure the ponytail behind your ear with an elastic. Twist the ponytail until it begins to coil around on itself. Secure the coil around the elastic with hairpins.

Step 3: If any front pieces come loose or you have bangs, sweep them to the side opposite the coil. Spritz the entire style with hair spray

Create a Messy Bun
Best for: Curly or wavy hair of all lengths, with or without layers.

3 Simple Steps to Straight Prom Hairstyles

Do you want to straighten your wavy hair without damaging it with a straightener? Then a blow dryer is your answer. Here are a few quick tips to make your wavy hair, not so wavy anymore.

1. Add some heat activated serum onto your hair, or even some anti-frizz serum. These work miracles, you just need to do this before you start drying your hair.

2. You must dry your bangs first, however, if you have a cowlick, it might be pretty hard to get your bangs all the way straight, but that doesn't mean you cannot try. Hell, a little natural wave can look pretty good though. You will need to take a round brush, and brush your bangs down while you point the dryer at your bangs. Please be careful, and keep the dryer at least 6 to 8 inches away, or it might just burn you.

3. Now, if you want volume, just flip your hair upside down, and brush it while you dry. However not everyone wants volume, at least not all the time, then just take sections at a time, and brush it with the round brush, while you dry.

It's pretty much done now, however, you do not want to brush your hair for awhile, if you do, it's going to get frizzy, and you may lose the straightness in the process. Now, keeping this style for as long as possible, such as most of the day, will most likely require you to apply some hairspray.

Now do you see how easy it is to get your hair straightened without resorting to a hair straightener? It is quite easy isn't it? Now you will never have this problem again, you'll be able to switch back and forth from wavy and curly, to straight anytime you want.
